Ministry Teams
Ministries are active teams within the church community that are made up of volunteers who share their talents, ideas, time, and energy with others. Those who take part in Ministry Teams say ‘yes’ to leadership. They serve the community and membership of the church and wider community with enthusiasm and commitment.
There are many programs and activities that you can be part of at Unity of Columbia. Volunteering in this way helps you form friendships with others and can be a fulfilling and rewarding way to give service. Contact the office for information about Ministry Teams.
AUDIO-VISUAL
Runs the YouTube Live broadcast and powerpoint during Sunday morning and other services.
CARE TEAM
Offers congregants a sense of connection and support during times of illness or grief and extends the hand of friendship in situations calling for congratulations.
GRIEF SUPPORT GROUP
The uniqueness of an individual’s personality and perception in the loss of a loved one can often make it difficult to express his or her grief. A grief support group provides an opportunity to be with other individuals who are also dealing with the grief of losing a loved one.
KNIT, CROCHET, GIVE
Creates hand-crafted items such as baby hats, prayer shawls, and twiddle muffs, for local charities. Meets approximately every other Friday afternoon. Check the calendar for meeting dates.
LANDSCAPE
Maintains our beautiful grounds.
LGBTQ+ SOCIAL CLUB
Offers spiritual support for those identifying as LGBTQ+, including discussion, service opportunities, and social activities.
MAINTENANCE
Provides repairs and seasonal maintenance to facility.
MEN OF UNITY
Offers fellowship for the male-identifying members of Unity, including breakfast gatherings, meditation, service projects, and retreats.
MUSIC
Works with the Music Director to provide vibrant and inspiring music for our Sunday services.
OFFICE SUPPORT
This team volunteers for shifts in the office, answering the phone, monitoring email, and helping with our eNewsletter.
OUTREACH
Identifies and coordinates congregational participation in service projects in the wider community.
PRAYER
Prays in response to requests and helps conduct prayer and healing services.
WOMEN’S MINISTRY
This group provides fellowship, service and spiritual growth opportunities for the female-identifying members of Unity.
YOUTH MINISTRY
Teaches spiritual development principles in a loving atmosphere to youth from two years of age through teenagers.
