You are welcome to share your talents through any of our Fine Arts programs.
Our Fine Arts Director, Gary D. Smith, has a B.S. in education and a master’s degree in music. He has 28 years’ experience in church music programs, directing bell and chime choirs, instrumental ensembles, children’s choirs, and vocal and instrumental soloists.
You do not have to be a member of Unity Center to participate in the Fine Arts program.
Music at Sunday Services
The music in our Sunday Services provides each member of our congregation with an opportunity to experience God within. It is an opportunity for local and national musicians to display their talents in song, dance, and/or instruments, offering a wide variety of music throughout the year.
Our choir of male and female voices join in harmony in co-creation with the Spirit of God. Their performances at celebration services, holiday services and on CD recordings reward us with beautiful performances. No auditions required. Adult/Youth Voice Choir rehearsals are most Sundays 4-5:30 p.m.
The Unity bell ringers present delightful melodies with a four-octave set of hand chimes. Participation in this ensemble requires basic music reading ability. Unity Ringers rehearse most Mondays 6:30-8 pm in the Sanctuary
In April 2002, Unity Center opened its Solar Gallery, devoted to the expression of visual art. The Solar Gallery is designed to allow everyone to experience the co-creative expression between Spirit and artist, Spirit and observer, and observer and artist. It supports creativity in its many forms. Past shows have included such mediums as oils, watercolors, computer graphics, fabric art and photography. We are open to any creative endeavor. Submissions must be reviewed and approved by our Visual Arts Team.
The Visual Arts Department receives a 20 percent commission on all sales.
The gallery is open 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Sunday; and 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Monday through Thursday.
Our Sunday services may include dramatic arts presentations by individuals or ensembles who express themselves through dramatic elements, allowing for person-to-person communication that touches the mind, heart and spirit. All age groups are encouraged to participate.
